What is Mat Pilates?
Mat Pilates was founded by Joseph Pilates and he was a physical trainer who created a series of exercises. Pilates is a low-impact workout performed on a mat using your body weight and small props to strengthen the core, improve mobility, improve posture, flexibility, balance and overall body control. It is suitable for all levels and helps to build strength and mind-body awareness.
What is Reformer Pilates?
The Pilates Reformer is a traditional piece of Pilates equipment, originally designed by Joseph Pilates. The bed-like frame has a sliding carriage, attached to resistance springs that can be adjusted to suit the purpose of the exercise. It’s low-impact, safe, and highly effective for all fitness levels.
I’m new — can I join any class?
Yes, beginners are welcome at Studio Core 7. There will be adaptations and modifications provided where necessary and progressions for more advanced clients.
For your first experience to Pilates, you may benefit and want to book a private Beginner/ Fundamentals class to build your confidence. However, this is not required.
Where is the studio located?
Studio Core 7 is located in Brackley. All location instructions will be given to you after booking by email.
Is there parking nearby?
Yes there is ample parking close to the studio.
Do I need grip socks?
Grip socks are required for all Reformer classes for hygiene and safety. Available to buy at core7accessories.co.uk that can be delivered or collected from the studio on the day of your class.
What should I wear?
Comfortable, activewear. Please avoid zips or clothing that may catch on the equipment.
What should I bring?
Just grip socks and water. All Pilates equipment is provided.
How early should I arrive?
Please arrive 5 minutes before class. Late entry to the class may not be permitted. It is for your safety that you are there on time to take part in the warm up before the class begins to prevent injury.
How do I book a class?
All bookings are made online through our booking system on the website. Choose your class, date, and time.
How far in advance can I book?
All classes can be booked 30 days and are subject to availability. Availability of classes will increase in time as the community grows and this will be updated on the booking system.
What is your cancellation policy?
We operate a 48-hour cancellation window. Cancellations within 48 hours or no-shows will result in loss of the class credit. If 48 hours notice is given a credit will remain for you to use on a future booking to use within 3 months.
Do I need to complete a PARQ form?
Yes. A PARQ form will be emailed to you after booking your first session. It must be completed before attending for safety reasons. Unfortunately, if this has not been completed you will not be able to attend the class.
I’m pregnant — can I join a class?
Classes are not suitable for pregnant women. I am currently training in pre and postnatal Pilates and when I have completed the same, I will update on the website with classes tailored for pregnant clients.
How long are classes?
Classes run for 50- 60 minutes, depending on the session type.
Do you offer private sessions?
Yes, private sessions are available for personalised attention. Please reach out by email or telephone to check availability.
Are classes suitable for all genders?
Yes, Pilates benefits everyone, all genders, ages (18+), and fitness levels.
How often is the studio and equipment cleaned?
We maintain a clean, welcoming space. All equipment is regularly sanitised, and clients wipe down equipment after use. Grip socks help maintain hygiene on the Reformers.
